The Fudge Puppie
Story What a fantastic discovery! Talk about pure profits! Yes, you can now retail a Chocolate Fudge Puppie topped with whipped cream for $3.50… with a food cost under 35¢! Fudge Puppies are great at major fairs, festivals and other special events. It’s easy to prepare them way ahead and keep them in the refrigerator or freezer, ready to top with whipped cream. Just produce Belgian Waffles on a Stick in our Goldmedal #5044 Baker shown at right. Use the Deluxe Goldmedal #5017 One Step “Belvarian Belgian Waffle Mix”shown at the top of page 71. As they cool, dip in our Goldmedal #5519 Chocolate Dip Coating and allow the coating to solidify. Then they can be frozen or refrigerated. With five or six bakers, it’s easy to produce 250 to 300 Fudge Puppies per hour. In a 10 hour State Fair- type event, that’s a lot of money! How many can you sell where you operate your snack bars? |

Goldmedal #5044 Fudge
Puppie Waffle on a Stick Baker This versatile Baker is described in more detail on page 76. Simply fill each of the five cavities level with our Belvarian Belgian Waffle Mix batter. Next, put one of the white paper Setterstix into the batter and turn or twist it. Then let the stick rest in the groove. Close the lid tightly and rotate 180 degrees so that the batter will fill the two cavities. The expansion during the cooking process will grasp the stick rather tightly. When the 3 minute cook cycle is over, remove the Waffles-on-a-Stick – trim off the “parting line overflow” and repeat. Production is about five Waffles every three minutes. Goldmedal #5519 Chocolate
Dip Coating Not an ice cream dip cone product made with Cocoa Butter, but specially compounded to work with a slightly warmed waffle, adheres in a relatively thin coating. Some people prefer to roll the Fudge Puppie in granulated peanuts as they hang it up to cool. The Dip Coating for Fudge Puppies forms a seal and actually “encases” the Waffle on a Stick. No refrigeration needed. |
